THE BASICS

Rayna York grew up with hippie parents that liked to adventure. Where change was the norm, books were her constant—a way to escape. As an adult, many careers came and went, but writing has always been her passion.

Author Note

I’ve always been an avid reader and can easily get lost for hours. So when I was going through a rough patch in 2008, I decided, crazily enough, to write a novel. An escape I could control and manipulate seemed like a pretty good idea to me. All said and done, I wrote an eighty’s throwback fiction, based on my life when I was sixteen, intertwined with my crazy upbringing. The New Girl took me six years, because life intervened as it usually does, but I finally finished it. So where is it, you ask? Well, it’s happily saved on my computer and may never see the light of day, but that’s okay. I’ve written three standalone novels. Everything I Knew to be True When Life Gives You Lemons Instead of Lattes, and The Right Kind of Unexpected. All three novels are based on dreams. I’m always writing on sticky notes in the middle of the night to help me remember, or writing them down as soon as I wake up. I will never be at a loss for material.
